Beginning with God
A good place to start your journey with God is to learn the ABC’s of faith.
“A” is Admitting we have disobeyed God. The Bible says we ALL have messed up and broken laws of God. (Romans 3:23)
“B” is Believing in Jesus Christ. It’s believing that he was sent from heaven to erase away the sins of mankind and that God raised him to life from the dead. The Bible says that everyone who believes in Jesus will have life to the max and life for eternity. (John 10:10, John 3:16)
“C” is Confessing that Jesus Christ is now your Lord and Savior. The Bible says that when we confess that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, we are saved. Saved means that we are now forgiven, it means we are okay with God. It means we are now free to know God, love God and live forever with God in heaven. (Romans 10:9-10)
If you want to start a relationship with God and begin an adventure of faith, pray this suggested prayer as if it was yours:
Lord Jesus, I know I am separated from you, but I want to change that. I am sorry for the choices I’ve made that have broken your laws. I believe your death paid for my sins, and you are now alive to change me from the inside out. Would you please do that now? I receive your love and forgiveness right now. Thank you for hearing and changing me. Now please help me know you in a relational way, so I can experience life as it was meant to be. Amen.
Now that you have prayed this prayer, tell someone about it. Tell your friend, spouse, or pastor that you have entered into a relationship with God. Hang around some Bible believing Christians for both friendship and for instruction in your relationship with God. Please contact the church office if you prayed to receive God’s love and forgiveness for the first time. We’d love to connect with you and provide a family of faith for you. Welcome home! You were made to know God. You were made so God could love you!
God is real. He lives to bring hope to all of us. We are all in need of a relationship with him. No one needs religion. No one needs another place to go and be judged. We all need the love, acceptance, and hope that come from living as a disciple of Christ! Now you can live with purpose!
